02.24.25 – Black History Program / Conference Day
Parents, please join us as we open our doors for our annual Black History Month family event! We are celebrating with the theme: “Education is Freedom for All”!

At Wayman Academy, we truly know how to celebrate! To mark the end of the school year, Coach Bunion put together an exciting Play Day filled with field games, bounce houses, refreshing popsicles, tasty popcorn, an indoor movie, and so much more! Wishing all our boys and girls a FANTASTIC summer!

03.05.24 – Slime Lab 2024
One of the highlights of Art class each year is the much-anticipated slime project, where students get to make a delightful, creative mess! The excitement kicks off with a class vote, deciding on the slime’s color, the sparkle of the glitter, and the choice of a fruity scent to make each slime uniquely theirs. The outcome? A collection of vibrant photos capturing the fun and some wonderful memories to cherish. A big thank you to all our enthusiastic boys and girls for making it such a fantastic experience!

02.12.24 – Celebrating Black History Month
This month, Wayman Academy embraces and explores Black history with vibrant displays and educational activities! Each year in February, our art teacher unveils a new portrait for our gym, which hosts a permanent collection of portraits honoring Black leaders throughout history. This year, we welcome memoirist and civil rights leader Maya Angelou! Accompanying her portrait is the quote, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” As a creative writer, Maya emphasized the power of discovering our voices and sharing our stories.
We invite our community to explore this collection, participate in fun activities, and see the many other displays around our school by attending our “Night of History” Family Night on Thursday, February 22nd, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. Please join us!
